The article discusses how some women's magazines, including "Seventeen," "Cosmopolitan" and "Essence" send messages that women should change their body and behavior to suit men. Commercialism targets the insecurities of women and many women strive to look like the standard of beauty of the media. Most women's magazines advise women to keep up with the trends of the season.
