The article discusses the efforts of Beneficial Designs Inc. in Minden, Nevada to improve adaptive equipment standards and mobility-aid of people with disabilities. Paralyzed Veterans of America also supported the developments of standards which aimed to manufacture and design several power wheelchairs, seating standards and adaptive sports equipment. They develop standards which apply to power wheelchairs which include braking, dynamic stability and climatic testing.
