ABSTRACT
The article discusses the Framingham Offspring study which investigates the clinical and echocardiographic correlates of plasma osteopontin in a community-based sample. Multiple linear regression was used to relate plasma osteopontin to risk factors of cardiovascular diseases. The authors observed a borderline significant association between higher osteopontin concentration and increased left ventricular end diastolic dimension.
