ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the profession of Giovanni Poli as director of the Teatro Ca' Foscari in Venice, Italy. Aside from directing the company, he is also its founder and he has been spending several weeks directing rehearsals and a famous play in the commedia-dell'arte manner called "L'Augellin Belverde," or "The Green Bird," which was written by Carlo Gozzi in 1764.
