ABSTRACT
The article relates the author's experience in spending the summer in Corsica, France. He cites that physical labor in the island was mostly done by the women, while some of the men describe themselves as professional fishermen. He narrates his experience when he attended a dinner at the Hotel Thalassa where he and the faculty were staying and where he met a girl named Annie. He mentions the time when he played ping-pong and got into a debate with the other guests about him being a physicist.
