ABSTRACT
The article looks at a typical day in the life of Olaf Jorgenson, Headmaster of Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Kamuela, Hawaii. The academy is an independent, coeducational K-12 school where some of the older students live in campus dormitories with faculty families. The article discusses Jorgenson's transition from being a public school administrator to heading an independent boarding school, his relationships with teachers, the school's Web site, school construction projects, and school sports.
