ABSTRACT
The article relates the author's experience of visiting the national Fancy Food and Confection Show held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Astor in New York City. There were about two hundred and thirteen exhibits at the show. One representative from Bachman Bakeries of Reading, Pennsylvania claimed that they can produce ten million pretzels a day. The exhibit of the Swiss American Importing Co. showcased a gift or gourmet boxes filled with assortments of cheeses, shrimps and smoked fish.
