ABSTRACT
The article highlights a conflict between the Metropolitan Opera Association and the Save the Met Committee over the plan of the association to lease the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City against the aim of the committee to preserve and renovate it as an international symbol of U.S. musical culture. Roy Anderson, founder and coordinator of the committee, admits that he is upset on the plan of the association.
