ABSTRACT
The article forecasts that the wireless LAN global market will achieve $3.2 billion in revenue by 2010, a 17% compound annual growth rate according to report from International Data Corp (IDC). The forecast is based on technology advancements in 802.11 such as single chip low power devices. IDC stressed that the primary growth opportunity is in embedded applications like mobile telephones.
