ABSTRACT
The article examines the times in people's lives when they are more at risk of putting on weight. It is much easier to buy some takeaway food than stock up on fruit and vegetables, and cook yourself a healthy meal, especially when making toast is about the limit of your culinary skills. Studies by the Research Centre for Gender and Health, at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, looked at women going through menopause and found that 2.25kg was the average weight gain for this group.
