Another step closer to global financial planning standards

January 2005
Journal of Financial Planning;Jan2005 Supplement, Vol. 18, p21
Academic Journal
The article discusses the steps that have been taken by the International Organization for Standardization in the personal financial planning profession. The Financial Planning Association has already backed three elements of the new proposals, including its support for global standards towards the good of the global public as well its support for the CFP's designation of financial planning certification standards. It, however, voiced its opinion against the measure for self-declaration for compliance in countries that have third-party certifiers. The ISO will continue to work on the standards to clarify and confirm issues that have been brought up by various other organizations.
