ABSTRACT
The article presents an interview with Roger W. Straus Jr., president of Farrar Straus & Cudahy Inc., about his appointment as Book Committee chairman by the Executive Committee of the People-to-People Program in the U.S. It was created by former President Dwight Eisenhower in 1956 to reach citizens of foreign nations through books and other media channels. He collaborated with Ambassador John K. Galbraith to send 2,000 books in his embassy's library in New Delhi, India. His main task is to attract people to the program.
