ABSTRACT
The article discusses the case of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts versus Norman Mailer. The case involved Mailer making a joke of trying to flag a police car as if it were a taxi. He was arrested Patrolman George S. Amand and Special Patrolman William Sylvia. Mailer that he was clubbed by the policemen. Mailer was judged to be guilty of drunkenness but not of disorderly conduct. The judge also declared that the police went too far.
