ABSTRACT
The article comments on the absence of an official song for the state of New York in 1960. Republican Assemblyman Grant W. Johnson proposed that "The Hudson-Champlain March" should be instituted as the official song of the state. The march was composed Chief Warrant Officer Vernon Procter and Major John Hassard in 1959.
