ABSTRACT
The article comments on the influence of television on bar life in the city of New York. Local bars in the city have their television sets on, nearly always or hardly ever, or sometimes or never. Bars that openly discriminate against television constitute a rapidly diminishing minority and bars that do no have a television set on the premises are practically extinct.
