Statue of Liberty

The article relates the experience of the authors joining a group of students aboard a Circle Line boat for the short voyage from the foot of Manhattan to the Statue of Liberty as a protest to the school-segregation decision of the Supreme Court in New York City. About a hundred and 50 high school and college students, white and colored were aboard as the boat left South Ferry. The authors had a conversation with one student who was expelled from college.
