ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of the environment, public health and food safety committee of the European Parliament to conduct a key meeting to discuss Reach, the chemicals regulation legislation, on October 4, 2006. The committee is confident that the legislation needed to get Reach onto the statue books will pass for the year. This implies that there will be agreement between the Commission and the Parliament, which has equal decision-making power.
