This article presents information on lemurs at the Duke University Lemur Center in North Carolina. All wild lemurs are found on the African island of Madagascar. Lemurs are small primates from the family Lemuridae. They are related to apes and moneys. There are over 60 varieties of lemurs in existence today. Each species has different characteristics.
