The article profiles Maria Lourdes Mangahas, who was appointed as the vice president for research and content development of GMA Network Inc. and the editor in chief for the Web site of GMA News. Mangahas is a former editor in chief of "The Manila Times" and a cofounder of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism before working for GMA news and public affairs network. Marissa L. Flores, GMA Network's senior vice president for news and public affairs, cited Mangahas's skills in investigative journalism and experience in newsgathering as reasons for her appointment. Her new position will involve leading the GMA's news research team and maintaining the news training program.
