Nieman Reports;Fall2006, Vol. 60 Issue 3, p94
The article reports on a journalists' gathering in France attended by journalist Jim McCartney on June 19, 2006. A public square in the village of Le Thor was dedicated to the memory of the late Pierre Salinger, press secretary of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy. The author and his colleagues from the class of 1964 decided to attend the dedication after discovering they were all, by coincidence, south of France on the day of the event. The author recalled his and his colleagues' memories of Salinger.
