ABSTRACT
The article discusses the trading relationship between Alaska and Puget Sound, Washington. Puget Sound has served as a supply pipeline for those living in Alaska. In economically tough times, it was the Alaska market that helped to provide opportunities to Puget Sound companies. The study Ties that Bind, which was commissioned by the Alaska Committees of the Chambers of Commerce of Tacoma and Seattle in 1985, showed the trade relationships of businesses in both regions.
