The article reports on the intention of the law firm Clifford Chance to merge with a Chinese firm as it waits for the Chinese government to open up the legal market to foreigners. The country is a top strategic focus of many global and major regional clients of the firm. Managing partner Jim Baird states that China remains an important focus for the firm.
