The article reports the fate of private equity and real estate in the U.S. It is inferred that in past 18 months, rollups of hotel operators, investments in resorts, acquisitions of amusement parks and leveraged takeovers of major casinos happened. Few would argue that private equity investor have been able to capitalize in real estate. Debt levels can represent 65 to 80 percent of purchase price while holding periods mirror three to five-year windows traditional in private equity.
