Are Workers More Ready for 'New Retirement' Than Employers?

The article presents findings from a study by Merrill Lynch that suggests that younger workers are thinking about new ways to retire, while their employers are not. A majority of baby boomers are not seeking traditional retirement. A majority of adult workers want to work in some capacity in retirement, primarily to stay mentally and physically active. The majority of employers are not ready for the outflow of older skilled workers and are more likely to assume that retirees that continue to work would desire regular part-time work, instead of cycling between periods of work and retirement.
