ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the fungicide resistance management strategies discussed at the Association of Applied Biologists (ABB) conference held in Great Britain. Genetically modified crops with higher levels of in-built disease resistance might offer an effective way to overcome fungicide resistance. The results of strobilurin barley mildew resistance trials was presented by SAC researcher Fiona Burnett. Genetic modification could possibly improve host plant resistance to fungal diseases. INSET: ADVICE ON LABELS.
