ABSTRACT
The article offers ways on how a professional in the chemical industry can use social events to build relationships and meet new people. For each event, he should formulate a plan and jot down any specific objectives that he wants to achieve to help maintain his focus. He need to be alert and be able to concentrate, but at the same time appear relaxed. An ability to remember names is key, and he should repeat them on introduction and use them during the conversation.
