ABSTRACT
The article reports on the growth plans adopted by Dutch waste treatment company AVR to enhance its position in the sector. According to commercial director of waste processing Jan Boelen, the deal that resulted to the emergence of a new owner is good news for AVR. The company is building a 175 000 ton per year biomass electricity plant that will produce 35 megawatts of power, mainly by burning wood reclaimed from municipal waste streams.
