ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the selection of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. by the Korean Navy as the preferred designer for the Future Frigate (FFX) program. Preliminary designs show the new frigates will be around 335 feet in length and displace 2,300 tons. Moreover, BAE Systems PLC has received a letter from the government of Malaysia for the procurement of two frigates. BAE Systems has partnered with Malaysia's Labuan Shipyard and Engineering for the project.
