ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the effort of Flying Navy aircraft with Coast Guard gunners concerning the drug interdiction missions in the U.S. According to Lt. Comdr. Rick Hamblet, acting operations officer for the Coast Guard's Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron, the purpose of the program with Naval-Coast Guard crews was to increase the operational capabilities on the water. Moreover, the Navy is barred from performing law enforcement duties.
