ABSTRACT
The article reports on the approval of the TimeCreator 1000 DOCSIS Timing Interface (DTI) Server from Symmetricom Inc. by CableLabs Inc. in August 2006, implicating the advancement of the modular cable modem termination system (M-CMTS). The DTI assures that the M-CMTS components are using the same clock and synchronizing the downstream modulators in edge Quadrature Amplitude Modulation devices. Gurdip Jande of Symmetricom noted that his company licensed seven vendors for its technology.
