ABSTRACT
The article reports on initiatives designed to improve patient satisfaction in the U.S. The Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey has launched a collection of Nicole Miller-designed patient clothes aimed at preserving the pride and dignity of patients. A privacy screen attached to gurneys of patients so that they can roam around without being subjected to embarrassing stares was unveiled by Ed Marcell, manager of patient transportation for Oregon Health & Science University.
