ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the ultimate duty for a senior intelligence officer of the U.S. Army mentioning his experiences and hints from counterinsurgency operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Positions of trust are given to intelligence officers as a result of the bonds that develop between them and commanders. Major combat operations are differentiated with counterinsurgency operations.
