ABSTRACT
This article presents a description of Merry Mount by Thomas Morton, lawyer of Clifford's Inn, London. He found nearly all the birds, animals, fish and plants larger or better, the savor of the flesh superior, to those of England. He describes the air as fragrant with the odor of England. He found the hospitality and custom of the people in many ways superior to those of his fellow Europeans.
