ABSTRACT
The article suggests strategies that the U.S. must take in response to threats to the country's national security. The U.S. must help failed states to recover from chaos and it should also build and support international institutions. The role of critical institutions in forming perceptions and attitudes must be understood in order to prevent and resolve conflicts. The U.S. must initiate the reframing of the strategic environment. Thus, it must use its diplomatic, economic, social and military resources to promote world peace.
