ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the urgent necessity to treat the epidemic of obesity in Great Britain. Obesity is defined and options for treating obesity given. Health consequences and economic costs of obesity are mentioned. Benefits of obesity management are pointed out. Waist circumference as an obesity measurement is discussed as are strategies for early treatment and prevention.
