ABSTRACT
The article reports the awarding of the Plymouth Schools PFI project ion England to HLM Architects. HLM will work with Lacey Hickie and Caley to build the project which is comprised of a Learning Campus, Primary School, Early Years Centre and Young Parents Centre. HLM was able to meet the sustainable design solution requirement of the project through its HLM-4D environmental software package. The software enabled HLM to address sustainability issues like building form and location, orientation and space planning, and location of services. Plymouth Schools will maximise the use of natural ventilation and daylight.
