ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Schafer Fisheries owned by Michael Schafer in Thomson, Illinois. Schafer has staked his company's future on the fish, selling two million pounds of it in 2005 to 20 markets across the U.S. The fish made up a quarter of Schafer's $4 million in 2005 revenue. It expects that carp should contribute 40% of $7 million in sales in 2006.
