ABSTRACT
The authors describe their experience of handling a jaundice that afflicted their newborn son. When their newborn son began to look jaundiced, it was the start of a nightmare with ongoing consequences. The fifth day after their son was born the pediatrician stormed into their room. They have been telling staff for two days that they thought their son looked jaundiced, but the nurses seemed reluctant to order a test.
