The article discusses the observations of Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates on the battle against AIDS, presented at the International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Ontario in August 2006. Gates reported that for each new recipient of AIDS treatment in 2005, 10 others were newly infected. Although increases in the number of people of accessing treatment was observed, there is also an increase in cases of HIV/AIDS.
