The article reports that Santec Inc. has introduced the first product in its new range of tunable lasers, the TSL-510. The new laser has a new front panel interface and a number of improved features and specifications. The TSL-510 is a compact bench-top instrument with a full 120 nm mode-hop-free tuning range. The laser has a 100 nm/s rapid wavelength sweep function which is particularly suitable for fiber optic component testing and material characterization. The instrument consists of a numeric keypad with a bright fluorescent display for ease of control.
