ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the study titled "Allograft Versus No Graft With a Posterior Multisegmented Hook System for the Treatment of Idiopathic Scoliosis," by R. R. Betz et al. published in the January 2006 issue of the journal "Spine." In this study, autogenous bone harvested from spinous processes or ribs was discarded as is standard clinical practice. It points out that the limitation of the study was that clinical follow-up was more than two years in 20 percent of the no-graft group.
