ABSTRACT
The article features the privatization of the power generation market in Russia. The privatization to foreign investment will not only modernize the power infrastructure but also inspire a host of investment opportunities. One of the government approach for foreign investors to own electricity generation firms is the change of its electricity pricing from state control to a competitive market based system. The government declared that about $90 billion in investment is needed through 2010.
