ABSTRACT
The article discusses the internal pressure handling capabilities and strength and the related consideration of fused capillary tubing from a theoretical standpoint. As the use of fused capillary tubing proved to be a popular column support in liquid chromatography, comes the need for high pressure to offset the inherent decrease in column permeability and the selection of an appropriate tubing size of sufficient mechanical strength is vital to avoid system failure.
