This article explains that Europe's Bisphenol A market has recovered from a low point earlier in the year to reach a balanced supply/ demand position as the fourth quarter approaches. Producers have succeeded in moving September contract prices up by approximately € 50/ tonne, with the prevailing price range pegged at € 1350-1450/ tonne free delivered Northwest Europe August 2006 prices also moved up by € 50-70/tonne. A weak Asian market had been putting downward pressure on the European PC market, but Asian demand is now improving.
