ABSTRACT
This article reports on the Omen crude oil futures contract introduced by the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME). The DME Oman contract is an attempt to improve price transparency and remove counter party risk in the Middle East crude market, which is dominated by over the counter trade and assessments made by price reporting services.
