ABSTRACT
The article presents updates in the international chemical industry. International Specialty Products Inc. and Germany-based geniaLab Bio Technologie have signed two agreements relating to encapsulated products. UOP has announced that its I-400 catalyst have significantly reduced operating costs in its first commercial application. U.S.-based biotechnology firm Codexis has raised $37 million of finance as part of its strategy to move into the active pharmaceutical ingredient and bulk generic drug manufacturing sector.
