ABSTRACT
The article presents updates in the international chemical industry. Germany-based BASF has applied to the authorities to conduct two field trials of genetically modified potatoes in Great Britain. Novartis has received approval in Switzerland to sell Lucentis for its treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration. DuPont is to expand production of its Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride film used in photovoltaic solar panels.
