The article provides an overview of the type 555 receiver switchboards of the Western Electric Co. These models were discovered to be set up for use as monitor loudspeakers in Rank Film Laboratories' theaters. These speaker drivers were designed and developed at Bell Laboratories Inc. which were regarded as the moving coil types.
