ABSTRACT
The article reports on the salary increase for employees, which continues to be below 4 percent for the fourth consecutive year. According to the new research by the Conference Board, pay increases for most salaried workers will average only 3.5 percent in 2006, and will remain until 2007. Compensation Specialist Charles Peck of the Conference Board also states that moderate inflation has allowed employers to continue to control payroll costs. Thus, estimates for all non-exempt and exempt employees for 2007 show salary hikes staying at 3.5 percent. In addition, researchers from the Conference Board also expect inflation to be less than median salary budgets in 2006 and 2007.
