This article reports on a number of diverse organizations that recently worked together to spread awareness to communities about childhood obesity. Allina Hospitals & Clinics, the Minnesota Medical Association, Preferred One, and The National Theatre for Children all helped to develop a community benefits and communications strategy aimed at preventing childhood obesity while generating awareness, influencing key constituents, and inspiring employees. The article reveals that the average child now spends 5.5 hours each day watching television, using the Internet, and playing video games.
